STRAUSS METAMORPHOSEN MITTENDRIN:
INSIDE A MUSICAL MASTERPIECE
Enter a labyrinth of music, memory and moral questioning as we literally take you inside Richard Strauss’s Metamorphosen for 23 Solo Strings.
Emerging from the destruction of Germany’s cultural heritage in 1943-44, Strauss’s intensely moving meditation will be lovingly opened up, its strands examined and revealed by conductor Tom Seligman, in the intimate but other-worldly setting of the Kuppelhalle at silent green.
Prepare to be surrounded and enveloped by sound, in a way you may never have experienced. Move around the players while we explore the piece together; then choose any place to sit – on cushions or chairs, amongst the ensemble or in the gallery – during a complete performance.
The event lasts around an hour and a quarter, and you are welcome to enjoy the café and surroundings of silent green both before and afterwards.
This concert is not recommended for young children. But Five Senses is planning innovative events for audiences of all ages later in 2020, so do stay connected by joining our mailing list!
