STRAUSS METAMORPHOSEN: INSIDE A MUSICAL MASTERPIECE
On Remembrance Sunday, we entered a labyrinth of music, memory and moral questioning, literally taking you inside Richard Strauss’s Metamorphosen for 23 Solo Strings.
Emerging from the destruction of Germany’s cultural heritage in 1943-44, Strauss’s intensely moving meditation was lovingly opened up, its strands examined and revealed by conductor Tom Seligman, in the intimate setting of this museum dedicated to the wonders of the body.
